Vital Materials’ Global Delivery Volume of Ruthenium Targets Surpasses 2,000 Units
March 16, 2026
Vital Materials has announced that Vital’s cumulative global delivery volume of planar ruthenium (Ru) targets have exceeded 2,000 units as of February 2026, marking a major milestone in our expansion within the high-end thin-film materials market.
Ruthenium, a platinum group metal with a high melting point (2334°C), excellent chemical stability, and strong electrical and mechanical performance, plays a critical role in advanced thin-film applications. It is widely used in magnetic recording media, semiconductor devices, electronic sensors, smart glass, and other functional thin-film technologies that demand high stability, reliability, and consistency.
Backed by strong R&D capabilities and advanced manufacturing platforms, including hot isostatic pressing (HIP), vacuum hot-press sintering, and spark plasma sintering (SPS) systems, Vital has established a comprehensive ruthenium target product portfolio. Vital offers large-diameter circular targets (up to 450 mm), rectangular and bonded target solutions, and ultra-long rotary ruthenium targets up to 1.9 meters in length, supporting both R&D validation and high-volume production.
Vital’s ruthenium targets achieve purity levels up to 5N5 (>99.9995%), with uniform grain structures and high density to ensure consistent thin-film performance. In addition, Vital operates a full precious-metal lifecycle management system covering manufacturing, recycling, purification, and regeneration, enabling efficient resource utilization and sustainable supply.
With continued investment in technology and global service capabilities, Vital is further strengthening our position as a reliable supplier of high-performance ruthenium targets for advanced manufacturing industries worldwide.
